Review of Filth (2013) by Lou A — 07 Jan 2015
A bizarre film, to say the least, that feels almost impossible to review. Some may feel its tone is too inconsistent, but it is difficult to not have respect for the completely eccentric style of blending moody violence with comedy.
It makes viewers go from laughter to shock and discomfort, within seconds. McAvoy also gives a transformative performance, among a great supporting cast. Its colorful look and pop soundtrack are also ironically fitting.
