Review of Fierce Creatures (1997) by Ed K — 04 Jul 2009
Disappointing follow up to 'A Fish Called Wanda' fails to capture the comic lightning in a bottle of that film. It manages only a handful of solid laughs, most of the time its just overwrought and desperate.
The amiable cast does what they can with a mediocre script - John Cleese and Jamie Lee Curtis are in top form, but Kevin Kline goes way too far over the top. A major disappointment considering the talent involved, although it does have a fun score by Jerry Goldsmith.
