This is easily one of the best movies on faith, redemption, and love ever made. Baseball as allegory for the transcendent spirit is unique and beautiful. The incredible surprise is that the story keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
The idea that the spirit grows through love is brought home in a tender and gentle final scene.
