Review of Fiddler on the Roof (1971) by Brian K — 21 May 2008
One of my favorite movies of all time! I was introduced to this musical as a kid when my parents recorded it on TV. I love the movie so much that my wife and I had a song from the movie, "Sunrise, Sunset" sung at our wedding.
What's so great about Fiddler on the Roof is that it examines questions of faith and tradition while still being a hilarious musical. You have to watch the whole movie to enjoy this one because some of the early scenes after the "Tradition" song are a little slow because they help to establish the storyline.
The movie had 8 academy award nominations and won 3 oscars so I know I'm not crazy either. So definately go buy this movie today if you haven't already!
