Review of Fiddler on the Roof (1971) by Gustavo M — 01 Sep 2008
This is one of my favorite musicals, and not just because I played Tevye once. It's beautifully filmed, and Norman Jewison's assured direction takes it from good to great. I prefer Topol's Tevye over Zero Mostel's.
The solo over the opening credits blows me away every single time. Yes, it's long, but it's incredibly good.
