Review of Fiddler on the Roof (1971) by Spencer P — 21 Oct 2018
Its dated and at times plotting along with too long of a runtime. Sometimes it was hard to make out what the words were that they were singing, altho u get the general idea. However, many important themes are discussed as we watch the main characters 3 daughters fall in love with ppl they aren't supposed to marry.
It discusses tradition with culture and religion, persecution of Jews throughout ages, relationship btw fathers and daughters, ideas of love and marriage, and gender roles. It takes on all that with a sense of humor and while showing special bonds.
Well acted for the most part esp the father and mother.
