Review of Fiddler on the Roof (1971) by Soponwit W — 13 Apr 2010
An amazing musical with great characters, great music and a great story, balancing comic and serious moments together wonderfully well. Yet at the same time it can act as a parable to modern society in how tradition is being tossed behind and forgotten for new and more vibrant things in life in people.
It's a stunning film with a great performance by Topol who is both hilarious and extraordinary as a character and as a performer. This is undeniably a classic and one of the best musicals of all time!
