Review of Fermat's Room (2007) by David S — 22 Sep 2009
This pleasant little mystery film from Spain creates a great atmosphere in its opening, but then it heads slightly downhill in a wave of plotholes and heavily signposted twists. The characters are believable however; it's just that the situation that they are placed into isn't, which wouldn't matter if the connections that they turn out to have with each other were more carefully thought out.
This is the kind of movie you can easily watch during one afternoon; it isn't revelatory, but enjoyable nonetheless.
