Not making a statement for, or against drugs, it shows the struggle (and chaos) of obtaining the "american dream" in its darkest. A sense of this movie having a message can get lost behind all the drug use and moody tones this movie sets, but if you have a knack for symbolism and the dark under-belly of what "hitting it big" means, this movie might change your outlook on a few things.
