Don't let the English title fool you into thinking this movie is ANYTHING like Real Women Have Curves; think of Y Tu Mama Tambien and you'll be a little closer. A Ma Soeur is profoundly unsettling, surreal, and at times very visceral.
As a conversation generator it's about on par with 2001. The ending comes like an extremely bizarre punchline, such that I don't know what to make of it except that I feel like the ending *is* the movie and the rest is just background.
Didn't expect to like it--I'm not a fan of French movies in general--but I did find it remarkable.
