Review of Fast, Cheap & Out of Control (1997) by Zack H — 11 Nov 2007
An excellent documentary. Formed mainly around 4 talking-head style interviews with a topiary gardener, a lion tamer, a robotics professor and a naked mole rat specialist, the sum of the parts is definitely greater than each individual component.
They're speaking about their jobs and interests and experience, but the film is edited in such a way that they're really commenting on the human condition. Man vs. nature, society vs. the individual, fear of death are just a few of the topics touched on.
Very thought provoking if you can read between the lines.
