Review of Far and Away (1992) by Sabrina L — 15 May 2009
A good, solid movie but not much was drastically different about it than other films. Except maybe that he starred opposite his then-wife. The story was romantic on a quest for a better life, the poor boy gets into money and the ritzy gal goes broke.
They can't stand each other yet eventually fall in love. While looking for food, they share a dream of finding a plot of land that is the most ideal, decide to go for it when violence gets in their way.
They still manage to meet up again, only to have their dreams changed again. The acting was good between Kidman, Cruise, and the rest of the supporting actors. The story was pretty typical, the direction didn't overly impress me, but the film was both comedic and dramatic (and obviously romantic) so a good date movie.
