Review of Fantastic Four (2015) by James D — 26 Sep 2016
Anything but Fantastic.
It is no doubt Fantastic Four is a very bad film. It is a shame that capable director with a marvelous cast can end up making such a horrible film.
The first act was decent, and Trank put effort in his well directed shots, but everything went south after that.
The film started going all over the place without a specific tone. It was badly edited with cringeworthy writing. The acting felt forced and there was no chemistry or comradery among the whole cast. Nothing leaves a lasting mark, and the things that do are all bad. The climax was the most predictable thing on film all year.
This is one of the worst films of the year and is laughably bad. Hopefully the cast and Trank can rebound after this failure, all of them have talent.
Rating: 5.8 (D+).
