Review of Fantastic Four (2015) by Jonathan B — 04 Jul 2018
A shambolic and rather tedious mess of a superhero movie in which nothing exciting happens at all. the main issue for me was a lack of chemistry between the lead characters who come over as lightweight and rather dull.
There's just not enough to engage the viewer and a distinct lack of the kind of over the top peril that a movie such as this requires in order to work. Blame for this lies with the writers who fail to create a storyline or characters that allow the audience to care about what is happening on-screen.
The lack of chemistry between the leading characters means that we have little investment or interest in what unfolds and rather than build to an exciting climax, the whole movie splutters and staggers towards a deeply unsatisfying conclusion.
