Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Dubeau — 18 Nov 2018
Second watch + deleted scenes: FB2 is a darker movie then the first one. So, this film lacks the positive and loving emotions. It is kind of: a setup the villain movie. I didn't mind the quantity of information but I think the structure of movie wasn't fitting so well this time.
The flashbacks had a tendency to broke the rhythm. Not that they were useless but the editing around it wasn't well decided. The relation between Credence and Nagani was way better with the deleted scenes.
I felt it was a poor decision to cut them. I give it a 70%. I think the film has a lot of bad rhythm but it is still interesting to watch for the characters and the lore. And some of the deleted scenes bring a bit more to the table.
They should have been in the movie for most of them.
