Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Ben B — 26 Jan 2019
Fantastic Beasts and The Crime of The Grindelwald is awful. It's not as bad as the first but it's still utter trash. I had high hopes and this film completely failed. The visuals were great, the creatures were cute and Jude Law made what he could out of Dumbledore but that is the only good things about this film.
Everything else is horrible. I mean, the title of this film makes no sense because Grindelwald is seen for about 10 minutes or so and he only commits one crime and that's at the very start. I was expecting a big fantastic villain with Johnny Deep but we didn't get that.
But the biggest problem is the script. The film is very disjointed and doesn't flow, there are too many plot lines that the film cannot take it. It lacks focus that it turns out too be extremely confusing because everything is forgettable and incredibly boring!! The conclusion was weird and left lots of unanswered questions.
A third one is coming but it really should not be.
