Review of Fanny and Alexander (1982) by Alex V — 05 Jan 2008
Bergman's masterpiece, without a doubt. Incredibly multilayered, fantastic acting, beautiful cinematography. And I just watched the three-hour version! I'm now hungry for the 5-hour version, mainly because I was so satisfied with the shorter cut, and it seems as though the longer one is the only way to go.
In short, it's as good as any other Bergman film...times ten.
