Ingmar Bergman's semi-autobiographical film "Fanny and Alexander" is certainly his most accessible film, and arguably his most accomplished, balancing the austere anguish of films such as "Winter Light" (1962) with the earthy, life-embracing humor of "Smiles of a Summer Night" (1955).
This review of Fanny and Alexander (1982) was written by Simon D on 28 Oct 2014.
