Review of Fail Safe (1964) by Tyler J — 19 Jun 2008
This movie has definitely survived the ages, despite the fall of the Soviet empire, and a transfer to big explosions and pretty actors. The terrific acting, brilliantly simple frame-composition, and perfect character and plot-development make this movie a nail-biter even now.
The tension of the situation and the heady decisions made effect the viewer powerfully. This is definitely a must-watch alongside Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove," as their juxtaposition enhances each's brilliance ten-fold.
