Review of Fahrenheit 451 (2018) by Andrew Y — 28 May 2018
The movie very well puts together acting, action, meaning and plot.
While the book will always be better, having watched this movie, I was almost doubting that I would still like the book more, with the movie diving much deeper into the character of Beatty.
However, I did not enjoy how the character or plot line of Clarisse was handled, with it being very cliche and dull. I also did not appreciate how the very climax of the book was ignored in thr movie, where Beatty looks straight down Montag and gets torched, followed by the running away, but did appreciate the ending and the alternative to what the book did.
I also missed the parts of thr book with Montag's wife and his slow falling for the books.
With all of this said, in no way did this movie leave a sour taste in my mouth and it was a great movie even without the book ever having existed. Worth watching for sure.
