I did not read the book prior to watching this adaption. It has been on my "to read" list for years and I even own a copy. However, after seeing that 2 actors I enjoy -- Michael Shannon and Michael B.

Jordan -- were going to be in this I decided to give it a shot. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I felt connected to the theme of what it was exploring and can (scarily) see the possibility of it in our actual modern society.

I thought the integration of how tech, social media, and the internet were woven in all seemed believable. After watching I researched the ways it was different from the source material and can understand why someone who read it first and loves that narrative would be disappointed.

However, from what I can tell I think the changes were all well thought out and necessary. The core message of the book was the same in the movie. I came away from this with thought provoking ideas that I believe Ray Bradbury intended.

Don't be swayed by the negative critics who only want to jump on the changes from the book. Do yourself a favor and experience this story that ties in nicely with our modern world but still honors the original intention and message of the author.
