Review of Fading Gigolo (2013) by Jill M — 13 May 2014
The most valuable aspect of this film is the cinematography. Marco Pontecorvo does a magical job of catering the city in Autumn. The other aspects of the film are not so great. The cast, particularly Woody Allen, are wasted.
I suppose I was expecting the film to be funny. It wasn't. And to top it all off, while I quite like John Turturro - the idea of his playing a successful high end male escort is about as believable as when Streisand played one in Martin Ritt's NUTS back in the '80's.
Unbelievable and fails to succeed on any reasonable level. Tho, I did enjoy Bob Balaban's all too brief appearance.
