Review of Fading Gigolo (2013) by Jason C — 30 May 2016
Turturro perhaps deserved an Oscar for his casting here - not only procuring Woody Allen for a co-starring slot but also lining up Sharon Stone and Sofia Vergara for a menage a trois and completing the main characters with Vanessa Paradis and Liev Schrieber.
Turturro also writes and directs and there are plenty of echoes of Allen's later work - gentle yet deep contemplations on the nature of love and lust in the heart of a quite preposterous plot. Enjoyable, and featuring a great jazz soundtrack.
