Review of Fading Gigolo (2013) by Sheri S — 14 May 2014
THis is a bit of an oddball mix, being a John Turturro film but having Woody Allen doing his regular schtick in it almost as if he were just turned loose in New York and told to live his life.
The interplay and humour work very well apart from an instantaneous turnaround at the end which seems inexplicable.
The lives of orthodox jews in NY seem very strange when they seem able to basically kidnap someone off the street, but maybe they do...
All in though a heart warming if slightly old fashioned film about the difference between love and sex.
