Review of Factory Girl (2014) by Monzi S — 11 Nov 2010
I can't understand why this film has recieved such a low rating from RT. I thought that this film was well acted, chilling and thought provoking. The film is about the rise and fall Edie Sedgewick, Andy Warhol's muse; Sienna Miller couldn't have been better and Guy Pierce was fantastic as the strange and mentally unstable Andy Warhol. The film is heavily poignant and depicts Edie's struggle with fame and drug addiction and her relationship with Warhol. I felt so sad for Edie and to a degree I sympathized with Warhol, but at the same time heavily disliked him. The film gave me a big insight into the life of Warhol and Sedgewick. I think the story did focus on the characters enough, although maybe there could have been a bit more background on Warhol. But otherwise I thought the film was excellent and to me the bad reviews remain a mystery.
Grade: A.
