Review of Faces in the Crowd (2011) by Sanjid P — 26 Oct 2011
Liked the main tool of this thriller...Prosopagnosia aka Face-Blindness, a problem that the main character of the story, Anna (played by Milla Jovovich) starts to living with after surviving a serial killer's attack.
As it got a good production value, they have able to use lots of 'faces (actors)' to show what sort of problem Anna is having & how she's dealing with and they did a fine job on that. But the sad thing is they didn't use it much to make this common premise of the thriller more interesting.
The most frustrating thing is the killer is too easy to identify, as soon as he/she first appears on the screen anyone can guess him/her. Moreover, killer's character or style of killing isn't interesting at all, there is nothing new.
But liked the way they gave a little Giallo flavor in the film, as the the killer commonly uses a razor blade & even in one quick shot we see him/her wearing black gloves.Overall, not bad...could have been lot better.
