Review of Eyes Without a Face (1960) by Rod A — 24 Feb 2011
A terrifying film, perhaps one of the most frightening I've ever seen. With a rare starkness, this film portrays the blunt utilitarianism of the human being. We use our fellow humans; it's that simple.
Silence of the Lambs is informed by the cold wierdness of this scenario. Because the plot is not that far fetched, the terror is that much more palpable. The documentary on slaughterhouses included in the special features will provide no relief.
