Review of Eyes Without a Face (1960) by Zachary D — 24 Feb 2011
Let the record show that this is one movie that could possibly turn you off on plastic surgery forever. This crazy scientist guy attempts to graft women's faces onto his daughter's after he disfigured her and the results are about what you would expect.
Except, not really. It's an effective horror movie in that you get chills (I can honestly say this is a genuinely creepy movie) and questions are left unanswered but it also slows down near the end.
This is probably because getting there takes some endurance and the end result is not nearly as powerful as you would have hoped. On the other hand, there is on scene in this film that is profoundly disturbing (even for me) so that should count for something.
