Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Brandon W — 17 Aug 2011
Probably not Stanley Kubrick's most popular work, but it was his last, so there's definitely something to appreciate there. This dark drama entails both sexual desire and jealousy and it illustrates how (once again) people and relationships are complicated, and how sometimes your mistake(s) can bring you closer to the ones you love, and you learn from it.
I still feel like Kubrick hid more secrets in this underrated film. Not for everyone though. It's very different.
