Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Jenna I — 10 Feb 2013

I'm honestly torn over this movie... on one hand you have the plot which is a truly simple morality play, A to B, no thrills (well, gratuitous female nudity but no thrills). On the other hand, you have this ridiculous tangent of so much symbolism thrown throughout the movie it almost becomes a vessel for an entire other plot which honestly boils down to: "is this mysterious or not.

" So in the end, it sort of intrigued me despite the stilted dialogue and the obvious plot... just because it was bizarre enough to trick me into being interested.
