Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Lee B — 08 Aug 2010
Kubrick's vision of a sexual odyssey comes to life in Eyes Wide Shut. Full of great performances from Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, a great screenplay and the as ever fierce and powerful direction from the only man who could do a film like this; Stanley Kubrick.
Eyes Wide Shut is the most underated and underappreciated piece of work from his legendary filmmaking career. Despite the long duration of 160 minutes, Eyes Wide Shut kerps you interested for the full duration.
A masterpiece. A great way to finish the career of one of my favourite directors of all-time.
