I happened to have watched this movie on cable TV only once about 14 years ago. It's called 'Explorers', which is about three kids building their own spaceship so they could meet aliens. When I first saw this movie, I noticed that a young Ethan Hawke and the late River Phoenix were in it.
I saw 'Explorers' only once; if I were to make a second viewing, then I must find it on DVD.
