The kids are great, and the story is not bad, but when they finally reach the spaceship, the film completely loses me. I feel like this could have been a much better film with a better script, but the casual direction made it feel sloppy and thrown together.

now I didn't grow up with this film, my husband has nostalgia goggles for it, but it's only ok for me.
