Call it a "quirky" intimate look at a couple made up of total opposites. But, while Samantha Morton's character is very endearing, Jason Patrick's angry, irritable, semisarcastic depiction maybe goes an inch too far.
It's hard to tell if he's supposed to be just an a-hole, or if he's half-joking. As far as the story, in the end, this is just a movie about a relationship of convenience that is doomed to failure from the beginning.
