Review of Experimenter (2015) by Greg H — 10 Feb 2016
The Milgram experiments are a fascinating subject- subjects were made to administer shocks to other subjects and were pushed to extremes that haunted many for years to come. Once the guts of the experiment are exposed, however, the screenplay seems to run out of steam.
The film takes a strange and frivolous turn, delving into some pointless tangents replete with the very worst impression of William Shatner you'll ever see. (They found the one guy who doesn't have one!) I saw a stage production of this story called the Confederate that kept the audience enthralled the entire time.
This version of the story, sadly, does not due justice to the source material. Watch a documentary on this instead.
