Review of Excision (2012) by Andy W — 15 Oct 2012
Excision doesn't do much for me despite its compelling visuals and shock values. The characters mostly leave me cold owing to the film's pretentious direction which hampers any resonance on a human level.
The film tries hard to be edgy with its deadpan, dark humor, but it somehow turns into a cliche among films of its ilk, unlike Teeth or May, in which the characters are flawed but sympathetic and engaging to some extent.
