Review of Excision (2012) by Paul D — 09 Dec 2016
Just found this film randomly and I must say it was pretty damn good. It is nice seeing AnnaLynne McCord relying on her acting instead of her looks and makes a welcomed departure from her 90210 alter ego.
It's clear McCord's "Pauline" is, to be frank, mental from the start. Dreaming of weird surgeries, having sex on her period, and brining herself to orgasm while dreaming are a few tell tale signs shes a bit cuckoo.
Her younger sister has a degenerative lung disease which fuels Pauline's surgery obesession as well as her Mother's lack of emotional support. Its quite gruesome and end on a shockingly crazy climax.
When it's over all you can really think is "What the hell just happened?!" which isnt a bad thing by any horror films terms.
