No matter how awful Anderson's entire career has practically been, this may be his finest work. Event Horizon successfully takes elements from the films Alien, The Shining and Hellraiser and uses them in a way that helps the film feel fresh yet familiar.

The feeling of insanity and paranoia is felt throughout the entire film, but specifically once the crew reaches the Event Horizon. My main gripes with the film as far as on a production level is definitely parts of the script.

Some of the lines the characters say and use just make zero sense. Which is unfortunate because it can take you out of the demented world the film has created. The one thing I would have been interested in seeing more of is the former crew's decent into madness and actually being able to see this other demention they compare to hell in the film.

Also the ending feels a bit like a cop out leaving you questioning if the ship was crazy or just the paranoia that the crew develops. Other wise Event Horizon is one of the few bright stars of the 90's horror slump and worth checking out, especially if you fancy sci fi horror like I do.
