Review of Even the Rain (2011) by Jillian S — 07 Mar 2011
Great Spanish-Mexican collaboration displaying the moral parallels between Columbus's treatment of indigenous people and a film crew who hires Bolivian extras to make a movie about it 500 years later only to find themselves in the midst of a revolt lead by one of their $2/day hires.
The irony between the two stories is not subtle here, but the performances make it an intriguing watch. I'm a sucker for movies about making movies and in that regard alone this is a good one, add in the politics and it's even better.
