Review of Essential Killing (2010) by Rukshan C — 24 Mar 2011
Polish film about a political prisoner (Gallo) being transported to a detention centre in Europe. When the vehicle crashes he escapes his captors and flees into the wilderness where heâ(TM)s forced to kill to survive.
A minimalist film with little dialgoue, the scenery looks great but the endless cat and mouse chase soons becomes tiresome, and thereâ(TM)s not enough in the character to really engage, despite Galloâ(TM)s best efforts.
