Review of Escape Plan (2013) by Hugo P — 30 Mar 2014
We finally get a movie with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. This should have been awesome, this should have been the greatest action movie ever made. I should have liked this a lot more than I did.
I was actually looking forward to Escape Plan. I thought it was going to be a fun action movie, with memorable one liner, and great chemistry from Stallone and Schwarzenegger. But I was disappointed by it.
The movie has a cool premise but doesn't really know how to go about it. The dialogue is horrendous. The writing is terrible. I don't really believe the chemistry between Stallone and Schwarzenegger.
Most of the characters are forgettable. I don't remember the names of the main characters. The movie tries to be cleverer than it really is. I was entertained throughout the movie. I was bored through some of it.
But there is basically one big action scene. There wasn't as much action as I wanted it to be, or should had have. I don't believe anything about the movie, and I know that it's not trying to be realistic.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. You might like this if you're a fan of Stallone or Schwarzenegger. But in conclusion I didn't like it; I was mildly entertained by it. If you catch it on cable you will like it a lot more.
But this wasn't the movie Stallone and Schwarzenegger should have been in. It's forgettable, bad acted, horrible written action movie that will entertain you for a couple of minutes. But you'll forget the movie the next day.
Nothing from this movie is quotable; if you do quote something from the movie you'll hate yourself for saying it. There is no rush in seeing this, if you catch it on cable, or watch it off of Netflix or Redbox you won't feel like you wasted your money.
