Review of Escape from New York (1981) by Robin H — 05 Aug 2009
Carpenter ruled horror, this was his attempt at ruling an action-thriller. Typically Carpenteresque in so many ways, and blessed with tough-man Snake as wonderfully masculine as Kurt Russell, but I still can't help but laugh at how simplistic it all is (something that worked wonders for Halloween but isn't quite the case here).
Tough guy anti-hero goes in, saves President, shoots bad guys, grabs case, end of story?
