Review of Escape from New York (1981) by Ceri H — 13 Feb 2010
As one of my favorite movies by John Carpenter, this film has such a mixture of influnces from different movie genres it make it a Sci-Fi movie in its own league. Even with the low $5 million budget of this film it still looked amazing, like New York city realy was a prison.
Eveything in this film is dark and brooding which makes the atmosphere of the film very tense. In my opinion best film of the 80's, and a true cult classic.
