Review of Escape from New York (1981) by Will C — 31 Mar 2011
In the year 1988, the crime rate in America rose 400 percent, so the government made the decision to build a wall around New York City and transform it into the world's largest maximum security prison.
Then in the year 1997, terrorists hijack Air Force One and crash it into New York city, the President barely escapes before he is taken hostage by the inmates. Now thereâ(TM)s only 24 hours to get him back, so he can attend a summit meeting with the Soviet Union and China to avoid war.
The only person who can get him back is a one eyed, flowing haired Kurt Russell, as Snake Plissken , an ex-military man turned fugitive. Is this plot completely ridiculous or genius?
