Review of Escape from New York (1981) by Kasey C — 14 Jun 2013
Escape From New York. Other than a stellar rack on the female role in the film, it has few redeeming qualities. Great concept and Kurt Russell is usually terrific (maybe not the most incredible actor but I love him because he was the 80's man's man).
Some of the worst writing and possibly the worst score of any movie I've ever seen. The music did not put any emphasis on ANYTHING that happened. It merely continued to play softly and the sounds matched nothing in the movie.
To sum up this movie I would say that Kurt Russell walked around with a gun, breasts were in my face, stuff happened, and a "happy" ending. Someone must have gotten fired after this was released.
A worse than bad movie with a terrible ending. 3.5-4/10.
