Review of Escape from L.A. (1996) by Danijel C — 23 Nov 2011
If Kurt Russell hadn't been in it I would have given it only two stars because Escape from LA is really that bad. As a Carpenter fan I would like to love everything he has ever done but even I can't put the seal of approval on this dreck.
Basically a remake of the original yet set in LA, this film suffers from excessive stupidity from the beginning, an awful script, and some of the worst special effects I have ever seen in a movie made after the 1940's.
The only scene I can even think of that was halfway decent involves Russell playing basketball...need I say more.
