Review of Eros (2004) by Nikita A — 20 Jan 2007
Better on paper than on screen. Wong Kar-Wai's contribution is, of course, visually lush and gorgeous, with contemptible people leaning against walls and seductively smoking. The Soderbergh is almost interesting, mostly because Arkin and Downey Jr.
are nice to watch. The Antonioni is a dirty old man fantasy with an amazing amount of pretentious self-indulgent dialogue about the nature of fidelity and mortality...
