Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Jens T — 05 Feb 2011
Eraserhead, David Lynch's debut picture, one of many of his surrelistic mindblowing masterpieces. This his most grotesque creation of them all. it as Horrifying as Luis Bunuel's An Andalusian Dog, it's even more because it's sixs time as long. This is not an R rated movie it's more NC-17. It can be traumatic in many ways.
The story line is not so easy to explain. But it's taking place in the near industrial future, where everything is gray and dirty. We follow the human worker Henry Spencer, who's in all his sadness also got his girlfriend pregnant. But they didn't get a nice healthy baby, They got the ugliest mutant creature.
As I said: this is a hard and mindblowing movie, and should only being seen by real film freak's. This is a movie one should reflect about, it's up to you how the movie works. I've only seen it one time. But it's sure tempting to see it again. I think it's one of thoose special pictures.
