Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Michael W — 28 Feb 2015
Here is the plot explained by Google:
Henry resides alone in a bleak apartment surrounded by industrial gloom.
When he discovers that an earlier fling with Mary X left her pregnant, he marries.
the expectant mother and has her move in with him. Things take a decidedly.
strange turn when.
the couple's baby turns out to be a bizarre lizard-like creature that won't.
Stop wailing.
Other characters, including a disfigured lady who lives inside a radiator, inhabit.
The building and add to Henry's troubles.
What... the..... fuck was David Lynch smoking when he wrote this. The only other Lynch film I have seen is Blue Velvet and I hated that films uncomfortable plot. Add this film to the list of, "Its not a film, it is a experience, singular". I cant find the words to explain this films feeling or its meaning. The multiple moments this film made me jump out of seat, keep the films horror in mind throughout; washing in and out like a tide at the beach. A weird film for a weird audience, we have all met that person who is weird and different, well the best way to explain it is this film target-audience is just that one person. Seriously an error gone on a killing spree for an hour and half, one of a kind film, that will never be duplicated (except for maybe Under The Skin), you may not enjoy it nor like the film, but you know you watched a feature film inside the head of David Lynch.
