Review of Equilibrium (2002) by Tomass P — 10 Sep 2012
Quite why this entirely enjoyable sci-fi flick was so panned by critics I'll never understand. Equilibrium is neither original nor groundbreaking, but it's well acted, the script is good enough and the action scenes are stylish fun.
Decried by some for 'ripping off' The Matrix (which wasn't exactly original itself) and Blade Runner (as is every film that has a futuristic city in it), Equilibrium is in fact, subtler than the former and more enjoyable than the latter.
Well worth a watch.
